Contenu Current researchThe role of INED is to study the population of France and the world from all angles. Its research is based upon two complementary objectives: to analyse the components of population growth (fertility, mortality, migration), and to identify the links between demographic trends and the historical, socioeconomic and legal context of the societies concerned. With 66 tenured researchers and some 50 associate researchers, doctoral and post-doctoral students, INED employs a team of around 120 specialists working in all areas of demography. INED is also responsible for preparing the annual report on the demographic situation in France, presented to Parliament by the ministers in charge of population and the family. These pages contain detailed information on INED research: researchers, projects, methodological units and ongoing research theses. Excellence laboratory![]()
