As a research laboratory, INED welcomes PhD students in the field of demography but also in economics, sociology, anthropology, history, geography, epidemiology, biomathematics and other disciplines within the humanities and the social sciences, provided that the topic is related to the research areas developed at INED.
PhD students applying for a place at INED may also be interested in the study programme offered by the Eureopan Doctoral School of Demography (EDSD). Candidates with a place at the EDSD can follow its one-year programme then pursue their thesis at INED. In 2009-2010, the EDSD will be hosted in Lund (Sweden). Please note that the selection procedures for applicants to INED and to the EDSD are independent, and that separate applications must be made to each institution.
