Bridging the micro-macro gap in population forecasting

MIC MAC is a research project coordinated by the NIDI (Netherlands Interdiciplinary Demographic Institute) in the Netherlands. The aim of the project is to develop a relevant way to follow and foresee demographic shifts, going further than traditional population projection by age and gender. In this respect, the project includes the assessment of the impact of shifts in lifestyle. The eight European partners have then developped a methodology and software that will be proposed to the Eurostat services, the European office for statistics.

At INED, Laurent Toulemon ispart of it.
