Contenu Public Research Institutes INED is strengthening its ties with the two public scientific and technological establishments (EPST) with which it works most closely, namely the Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale (INSERM, National Institute of Health and Medical Research) and the Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD, Institute of Research for Development). ![]() Since 2002, INED and INSERM researchers have worked together in a joint research unit called "Epidemiology, demography and social sciences", in association with Université Paris XI . Joint projects are also in progress in areas as varied as causes of death, genetic factors in disease, or abortion statistics. ![]() The relationship with IRD has taken practical shape through the creation of the Centre population et développement (CEPED, Centre for population and development), a joint research unit bringing together the two institutes and Université Paris V. IRD and INED also pool their information on demographic surveillance systems in sub-Saharan Africa. Last, the Maurice Halbwachs Centre brings together CNRS, EHESS, INED, Caen University and CIDSP Grenoble. Alongside the Quételet Network, its vocation is to document and disseminate survey data on public statistics to the entire social science research community. Last update : July 26 2011 |
