INED, together with INSEE and DPM (the directorate of populations and migrations), is responsible for preparing the annual report on the demographic situation in France, which is presented to parliament by the minister responsible for population issues. The Institute also responds to information requests from government bodies and carries out surveys on demographic behaviours with the support of bodies such as CNAF, CNAV or ministerial departments such as DREES, DARES and DPM.
