The New French epidemiological portal, "Portail Epidémiologie - France" has been set up by the Public Health thematic institute of the Alliance nationale pour les sciences de la vie et la santé to share information on French public health databases.

Its catalogue currently contains 300 databases, and provides a full description for around 100 of them (objectives, themes, populations covered, types of information collected, conditions of access, database managers, etc.).

Users can access information in a number of ways:
The Explore menu provides direct access to the database descriptions by database type: cross-sectional surveys, cohort studies, medical and administrative sources, etc.; by theme: pathologies, ages and periods of life, health determinants, etc.; by population concerned or by geographical scope.

Simple or advanced searches using a wide range of criteria can be made via the search menu (Rechercher).

The contribute (Contribuer) menu enables database managers to add new data and references to the catalogue.
