Founded in 1967, the Fondation nationale de gérontologie is a resources centre on ageing and age-related issues. It is also a centre of fundamental and applied research in the biomedical, epidemiological, sociodemographic, economic, psychological and social fields. In collaboration with INED and other partners, it takes part in European projects such as FELICIE and MAGGIE, on the living conditions of older adults.

The site is available in four languages: English, German, French and Spanish. It presents the foundation's missions, objectives and activities.
The site gives access to two bibliographic databases:
The FNG database, partner of the Banque de données santé publique (BDSP) contains bibliographic information on 22,000 documents published since 1986.
The CLEIRPPA database (Centre de liaison, d'études, d'information et de recherche sur les problèmes des personnes âgées) contains 41,000 records of articles, papers, etc. published since 1960.
The FNG publishes conference proceedings and publishes a specialized journal Gérontologie et Société with abstracts available online from 1997.
