The Observatoire des inégalités is an independent body that provides information and comment on inequality and discrimination for the public at large.
It draws up a comprehensive inventory of inequalities and sheds light on the issues at stake. Articles are organized under thematic headings and sub-headings: income, education, employment, living conditions, gender, age, etc. They give an overview of each topic, illustrated by graphs and tables and links to other data sources.

The home page includes a news section (à la une) with the most recent articles and statistics, an analysis section (comprendre) posting opinions, interviews and analyses, and a research section (recherche) that presents new research findings. The right hand side of the page features an in-brief section (en bref) giving the latest news headlines, a calendar of events (agenda) and answers to key questions (questions clés) on topical issues.
The Observatoire des inégalités publishes an annual report entitled Etat des inégalités en France, and a series of Dossiers. It also organizes training courses and issues an electronic newsletter. The home page includes a search window to find specific information anywhere on the site.
The site is available in French only.
