Gender and violence, inequalities, social relations This research programme considers gender-based violence in a new light, using representative quantitative data from the Virage survey (2015) and the Virage survey conducted in three French overseas territories (2018). The new data allow us to investigate violence experienced by women and by men and to study the intersectional dimension of violence. As well as the analyses conducted using the statistical data, we will produce qualitative data to explore less quantifiable aspects or processes not studied in the statistical surveys. The various strands of the research programme offer new materials enabling us to question reflexively scientific production in this field.
