Standart terms and conditions of sale

The present standard terms and conditions of sale govern Internet sales on the INED website at:
http://www.ined.fr


1. Orders
Orders may be placed online at: http://www.ined.fr/en/publications/
or:
• by telephone: +33 (0)1 56 06 20 23 (periodicals) or +33 (0)1 56 06 22 82 (books)
• in writing to the Publications Department, INED, 9 cours des Humanités, CS 50004, 93322 Aubervilliers Cedex, France

Orders will only be dispatched on receipt of payment.

2. Online ordering
You can select the items you wish to buy by clicking on “Add to shopping basket” as you browse through the “Publications” section of our website. Your basket remains active while you browse and the items you have selected are visible.
You may then:
• change quantities by clicking on + or -
• remove one or all of the items in your basket by clicking on “Delete”
• continue shopping by clicking on “Continue shopping”
After sending your order you will receive an e-mail to confirm that it has been registered.

3. Prices
Prices are quoted in euro and include VAT but not postage. Items will be invoiced at the prices quoted when the order was placed.
Book prices are set in accordance with current French law (Lang law number 81-766 dated 10 August 1981). Orders must be paid in full before dispatch.
European Union customers who are subject to French VAT will be invoiced exclusive of tax on condition they provide their VAT registration number at the time of the transaction.
Outside metropolitan France, buyers have sole responsibility for payment of customs duties or local taxes for which they may be liable.

4. Postage and packing
Internet orders: the cost of postage is as follows:
Free of charge: Metropolitan France and Monaco
5%: European neighbours: (Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Andorre, Spain, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, UK)
10%: Other European countries
15%: United States, Canada, French Overseas Departments and Territories:
20%: Rest of the world
Postage for periodicals is included in the subscription price.

5. Payment
The following methods of payment are accepted:
– Online bank card transactions (CB, Visa, Eurocard, or Mastercard).
After validating your order you will be directed automatically to a secure payment form.
You will be asked to provide your credit card details, which are then transmitted by a payment server in secure mode via Paybox. Your credit card details are only processed by the bank and do not leave the interbank network. Transactions are encrypted in 128 bit SSL security code. In accordance with Article 1341 of the French Civil Code regarding contracts to be evidenced in writing, the maximum amount of a transaction is set at €1,500.
Other forms of payment:
– By cheque made out to “Agent comptable de l’Ined”. The cheque should be sent together with the order form to the following address:
Publications Department, INED, 133 Boulevard Davout, 75980 Paris Cedex 20, France. The order
will be processed once the cheque has been received and cleared.
– By bank transfer to:

You are liable for payment of any bank charges incurred. The order will be processed as soon as the exact amount has been received.

6. Delivery
INED undertakes to process orders within 8 days of receipt of payment. The items will be sent to the address on the order form by “Colissimo suivi” (recorded delivery with online tracking)
or normal mail based on weight.

7. Availability
If an item is not available, you will be informed as soon as possible by e-mail or letter. If stocks have run out temporarily, you may cancel the order by contacting the Publications Department, INED, 133 Boulevard Davout, 75980 Paris Cedex 20, France.

8. Exchanges, returns, refunds
Exchanges
If an item is defective on delivery or does not correspond to the item ordered, we
undertake to exchange it, or issue a refund, on condition it is returned in the original packaging accompanied by the relevant invoice within a period of seven days. The defective or erroneous item should be returned to the Publications Department, INED, 133 Boulevard Davout, 75980 Paris Cedex 20, France.
The return postage will be fully reimbursed (at the standard postage rate) and the item will be exchanged immediately.
Returns
You have a legal retraction period of seven days from receipt of the order. During that period you may return any items bought on condition that they are in their original packaging and accompanied by the relevant invoice. These should be sent to the Publications Department, INED, 133 Boulevard Davout, 75980 Paris Cedex 20, France
In this case postal charges will be at the buyer’s expense. After the seven-day retraction period has expired, the items delivered will be deemed to have complied with the order and to have been accepted by the buyer.
Refunds
In the event of a refund, a bank transfer will be issued by INED on condition that the buyer’s bank details are supplied within a period of 15 days following receipt of the returned goods. On no account will payment on delivery be accepted.

9. Personal data protection
INED is committed to protecting your personal data, in compliance with the French Data Protection Act (“Loi Informatique et Libertés”) of 6 January 1978, you have the right to access and rectify data concerning you. INED undertakes to protect any personal data whose processing has been notified to the CNIL (the French Data Protection Authority). The Director of INED is the designated data controller for the Publications Department. You may exercise this right by sending your request in writing to the Publications Department, INED, 133 Boulevard Davout, 75020 Paris, France or by email to edition@ined.fr

10. Buyer’s acceptance
The present standard terms and conditions of sale, as well as the prices, are agreed to and
accepted by the buyer, who declares to be in full knowledge of the above. Order validation
implies the acceptance of the present standard terms and conditions of sale.
These standard terms and conditions may be altered by INED at any time without notice.

11. Law
The present contract is governed by French law and only French courts are competent in the event of a dispute.

Access to the electronic version via the Cairn website. You will receive a personal password when your subscription is registered by INED.
Electronic Version:
Access to the electronic version via the NecPlus website. You will receive the activation procedure for online access when your subscription is registered by INED.
