The International Union for the Sientific Study of Populations (IUSSP), which promotes the scientific study of population and fosters exchanges among researchers worldwide, held the first meeting of its new Council on April 7 and 8 at INED, which has hosted the Union’s Secretariat since 2000. Discussions focused in particular on the UIESP’s new scientific committees, the celebration of the association’s 100th anniversary—it was originally founded in Paris in 1928—and the organization of the next International Population Congress (IPC 2029) in Barcelona in July 2029.
