The Institute follows the European Union human resources strategy and principles known as HRS4R (Human resources strategy for researchers).
Jobs in the public sector fall into different categories determined by distinct qualification and responsibility levels.
Fixed-term contract hiring procedures
Our hiring procedures are open and transparent. All applications are studied and given equal treatment.
Candidates for contract positions apply for job openings at INED rather than taking French state competitive examinations.
Our job openings are published on the INED website and often on the Choisir le service public [french only] web page.
Applicants submit a CV and cover letter and, if selected on the basis of those materials, are then invited for one or several interviews.
Hiring doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and researchers for specific projects
As part of INED’s mission to train in research through research practice, we regularly host doctoral students, some of whom are then hired on a fixed-term contract.
We also hire postdoctoral fellows and more experienced researchers to work on specific projects.
INED hosts PhD students in our research units while they complete their dissertations; some of these students may also receive funding.
INED hosts and hires French and non-French contract researchers, including postdoctoral fellows.
Internships and occasional work periods
You may also apply for internship or occasional work period openings posted on our website, or send in a spontaneous candidacy via this form.
