La population du monde.
Abstract
The aim of this book is to consider, in Part One, some of the issues raised by an evolving population in 18 countries which already have or will have 100 million inhabitants by year 2025. The demographic, economic and social changes in these countries will weigh most heavily on the future of the planet. Part Two is built on a thematic approach. It looks at the challenges inherent to the integration of an additional 2, 3 or 4 billion inhabitants. Urbanization, employment, the environment, food, public health, the struggle against mortality, fertility control, international migrations and development strategies sometimes call for urgent solutions in a context of rapid changes.
